OUR SKL PROJECT
(By Lauren and Izzy)
Back to skl. It’s 2k9. Lauren’s at a state school in Coventry. Izzy’s at a private school in Kingston. Lauren is sporting a tooth gem. Izzy wouldn’t be caught dead with one.
OUR SKL PROJECT is an autobiographical interrogation of two teenage girls and their journey through state and private secondary education. The show examines our schooling experience and the moments that have shaped our lives as young girls in the UK.
It might make you laugh. It might make you uncomfy. Either way, we’ll save you a seat.

And we are very excited to host a workshop event for Midlands based teachers at Warwick Arts Centre on Wednesday 12th July from 6-8pm.
As part of the development of OUR SKL PROJECT we are thrilled to be partnering with schools in Nuneaton and Coventry to offer students in Years 9-13 an insight into the industry and how we work at SpeakUp Theatre.
As well as offering top quality creative workshops for free, we give students a chance to speak up about their school experiences and have a say in the development of this show. We also give young people the opportunity to have their voices featured in the fully realised production of OUR SKL PROJECT in 2023.
SpeakUp Schools is a growing programme and we would love to work with schools all around the UK. If you would like us to run a workshop at your school in the future please get in touch on contact@speakuptheatre.com.
SpeakUp Schools and the development of OUR SKL PROJECT is supported using public funding by Arts Council England

"Thank you both so much again for coming to work with some of our Sixth Formers, it was great to see and hear them engage with the brilliant activities you had planned. I think they would have happily stayed for another hour! "
